The Yoga Co-op of Madison is hosting senior Iyengar Yoga instructor Chris Saudek for a weekend workshop on March 6-8. Chris is a senior teacher in the Iyengar system and has studied extensively at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India, most recently in February 2019. She teaches classes of all levels at The Yoga Place in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The training Chris received as a physical therapist gave her a valuable background for her study of yoga. She is a precise and disciplined, caring and innovative teacher.
The March weekend is the second weekend in a three-weekend series for students and teachers of Iyengar yoga. Many participants sign up for the entire series; however students may also register for classes on a single weekend.
The Friday classes are open to students with six months of experience in Iyengar yoga. For the Saturday and Sunday classes, participants should have at least two years of continual classes in Iyengar yoga, be able to perform Sirsasana for a minimum of 5 minutes (or know any personal adaptation), Sarvangasana for 8-10 minutes, and be able to do Urdhva Dhanurasana and Adho Mukha Vrksasana independently (or know any personal adaptations).
