New Students

WELCOME TO THE YOGA-COOP COMMUNITY!

We are a cooperative yoga studio committed to the practice, teaching, and study of Iyengar yoga. All teachers are certified Iyengar yoga teachers (CIYT) or long-term students of Iyengar yoga teachers. Yoga is for everyone. You do not have to be in shape or flexible to attend a yoga class. We cultivate a non-competitive and vibrant learning environment for both new and experienced students.

PREPARING FOR CLASS
  • It is best not to eat for a couple of hours before class. Some poses are best done on an empty stomach.
  • For all classes, close-fitting athletic wear is recommended.
  • Please avoid wearing fragrances or jewelry.
  • We practice yoga barefoot, but feel free to bring socks (and perhaps a hoodie?) for the final pose (Savasana--corpse pose).
  • Mats are available, though we encourage you to bring your own.  If you use a studio mat, please clean it at the end of class, with the spray and cloth provided.
  • Filtered drinking water and paper cups are available, but we also encourage you to bring your own filled water bottle, if possible, due to cost and environmental concerns.
HOW TO BOOK A CLASS AS A NEW STUDENT
  • Go to: yogacoop.com/book-a-class. Please click ‘Sign Up’ in the upper left corner to create an account with our Acuity scheduling system. It will help both you and your teachers keep track of your class reservations. You will just need to choose a password to go with your email/username.
  • Fill out the New Student Registration Form and Waiver. This step is required if you have not attended a YCOM class since 2021.
  • Select a class from the list below that.
